New Years Golfing Tonic is an annual amateur golfing event, which since it's inaugural year in 2011 has continually evolved and is now rightly recognised as one of the most presigious events on the British amateur golfing circuit.

 

Beginning as a mere idea in the minds of both myself and my dear friend Mark Hillsley, the occasion was made a reality in 2011 following a tweet from Dartmouth Golf and Country Club. And who could have foreseen the success it would go on to be? The format has evolved from the original one meet a year, to a year round qualifying campaign which incorporates some of the finest courses that offer twilight rates on the British Isles.

 

It may have taken us three years to get a birdie but we have now appointed a handicap secretary, have a league table, and most importantly we have our own hashtag! In spite of all the changes though the competition centrepiece remains unchanged; three days of glorious golf at Dartmouth Golf and Country Club set in the beautiful rolling Devonshire countryside. Club sandwiches, bitter, relaxation and of course, GALF.
